Fatwa number ( 4117 )
Q: I am Zayd ibn Rashid ibn Khurayf, my father Rashid passed away twenty-six years ago, and before his death he bequeathed that I buy a sacrificial animal for him for sixty riyals every year, and this amount is taken every year from his property located in al-Halwah in the district of al-Gharis, and at that time the currency was the Arab silver riyal, and I ask whether I should take out from this property every year sixty paper riyals, or sixty silver riyals, or their value in paper currency and buy a sacrificial animal with it?
A: If the matter is as you mentioned, then you should take out the value of sixty riyals in Saudi riyals, taking their value in paper currency every year, and buy a sacrificial animal with it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
