The Employment of a Non-Muslim
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number (9657)
Q1: Is it permissible for a Muslim to employ a non-Muslim servant or driver, and if this worker has no religion?
A1: It is not permissible for a Muslim to employ a disbeliever as a servant, driver, or otherwise in the Arabian Peninsula ; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed to expel the polytheists from this peninsula, and because of what is involved in bringing near one whom Allah has kept far, and entrusting one whom Allah has betrayed, and because of the many harms that result from such employment. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
