The first question of Fatwa No. ( 15924 )
Q1: Some people resort to using the jinn to cure illness, claiming that the jinn possess them with the illness and that they earn a living from this work. What is the opinion of the religion regarding this? Is it lawful or forbidden?
A1 : It is not permissible for a Muslim to use the jinn for any purpose; because they will not serve him unless he obeys them in disobedience to Allah and commits shirk (associating partners with Allah) and kufr (disbelief), as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Jinn 72:6] And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-An'am 6:128] And what he takes as earnings from this work is haram (forbidden). Possession by the jinn or other illnesses is treated with the Qur'an, the prescribed supplications, and permissible medicines, under the hands of the trustworthy ones who possess sound 'aqidah (creed). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden.
And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when He will gather them together [and say], "O company of jinn, you have [misled] many of mankind." And their allies among mankind will say, "Our Lord, some of us made use of others, and we have [now] reached our term, which you appointed for us." He will say, "The Fire is your residence, wherein you will abide eternally, except for what Allah wills. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing."
