The third question of Fatwa No. ( 7932 )
Q3: One of my relatives sent me a large sum of money on the occasion of my marriage, intending to help me. Should I accept it, or is it better to be self-sufficient and make do with what I have?
A3: There is no harm in accepting it without harboring ill intentions, and one should reciprocate the kindness if possible with something appropriate, or by making du'a for him; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Abi Dawud 1672Sahih (Al-Albani) narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
