The Meaning of His Saying, "So be patient with what they say"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
So be patient with what they say
And to whom is the address directed? To the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Be patient with what they say, such as their denial of the Resurrection and other forms of their disbelief in you. Do not be distressed, for you will be rewarded for that, and the outcome is for you. And so we say to everyone who calls to Allah (Mighty and Majestic): Be patient with what is said to you and bear it, for the outcome is for the righteous.
(1) Alif, Lam, Meem (2) Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? (3) But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
[Al-'Ankabut 29:1-3]
You will surely encounter those who will reject your call, those who will mock you, and those who will ridicule you. But all of this will pass away as a bad omen if you meet it with patience and seeking reward. And if you are killed or harmed in that, it is only in the path of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). When the finger of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wounded in the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Are you but a finger that bleeds – In the cause of Allah is what you have met.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3345Sahih (Darussalam)
So whatever a person encounters in calling to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and in his work, whether it is psychological, physical, financial, or familial harm, it is only in the path of Allah. So let him be patient, let him seek reward, and let him await relief from Allah (Mighty and Majestic). For victory is with patience, and with hardship there is ease, and relief comes with distress. So be patient with what they say. If we were to return to Surat al-Mutaffifin, we would find for whom the outcome is. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:29]
When in this world?
And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:30]
Mockery and ridicule.
And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost."
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:32]
In our time, it is not said to the callers, "You are misguided," but rather, "You are reactionaries." Whoever holds fast to the religion is called a reactionary by these people. The word may differ in wording, but the meaning is the same.
And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, these are misguided." And when they returned to their families, they would return in a state of exuberance.
What is the outcome? Listen to it.
So Today those who believed
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:34]
Today, meaning the Day of Resurrection.
(34) So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, (35) On adorned couches, observing.
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:34-35]
And this is the laughter after which there is no weeping. As for the laughter of those criminals, after it comes the weeping whose tears do not dry up. We ask Allah for well-being and safety. Allah said to His Prophet:
So be patient with what they say
.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.
And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness.
[Qaf 50:38]
