The fourth question of Fatwa number ( 5727 )
Q4: I have heard much of what is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in which he narrates from his Lord that on the Day of Resurrection, a servant’s deeds will be brought, and the first thing looked at will be his prayer. If it is complete, that is fine; otherwise, his voluntary prayers will be looked at to complete what is lacking in his obligatory prayers, and so on for all deeds, or as he (peace be upon him) said. The question: Are the sunnahs we perform before and after each prayer part of the voluntary acts that complete the deficiencies of the obligatory acts? May Allah reward you.
A4: Yes, the voluntary acts of each obligatory act, whether prayer, fasting, zakah, or the like, complete what is lacking in the obligatory act; as narrated by Ahmad , Abu Dawud , Ibn Majah , and al-Hakim from Tamim al-Dari from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Authentic. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

The first thing a servant will be held accountable for on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. If he has completed it, it will be recorded for him as complete. If he has not completed it, Allah will say to His angels: “Look to see if you find any voluntary acts from My servant, and complete his obligatory act with them.” Then zakah is treated in the same way, and then the deeds are taken according to that.
