Machine translationRead the Arabic original

Fatwa number ( 1822 )

Q: Is it obligatory for the one who washes a deceased person to take a bath?
A: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. And after: Imam Ahmad and the people of the Sunan narrated from several chains that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever washes a dead person, let him take a bath.من غسل ميتًا فليغتسل
Sunan Ibn Majah 1463Sahih (Darussalam)
And what indicates the recommendation of the one who washes a deceased person taking a bath is also what Abu Dawud extracted, and Ibn Khuzaymah authenticated from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to take a bath from four things; after sexual intercourse, on Fridays, after extracting blood from his body and after washing a dead body.كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يغتسل من أربع: من الجنابة، ويوم الجمعة، ومن الحجامة، ومن غسل الميت
Bulugh al-Maram 112
.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
