The women’s rush for fashion.

The Shaykh : In this land—may Allah be praised—we seek luxuries, while the necessities are available, praise be to Allah. We seek luxuries in food, drink, clothing, housing, and transportation. Allah has blessed us with this, and praise be to Allah. So clothing, food, drinks, and vehicles come to us from every direction. However, we must be wary of our enemies and not feel safe from their treachery, for the enemies of Islam are your enemies. You are the Muslims who represent Islam to the best of your ability, and you are truly their enemies. For Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, says: They seek to destroy you, to destroy your religion by every means, and by every scheme and deception. What indicates this is the clothing they present to us: the varied clothing that does not conform to Islamic dress. Look at how the offices are filled with magazines featuring models that have no connection to the traditions we follow, which our religion dictates. And, unfortunately, the people, with what Allah has blessed them, accept every new thing. Whenever a new fashion comes, they adopt it and abandon the previous one, even though it is still suitable for use. They take our money, they strengthen their economy, and they send us what contradicts the customs we follow, the customs that stem from our religion.
Unfortunately, there are now women’s clothes that have filled the markets. If a woman wears these clothes, she becomes almost naked, as if she were naked. There are clothes with images on them that are not permissible to wear, and clothes with vulgar, silly phrases written on them in English. The people, like runaway camels, throw themselves at these clothes and buy them without thinking about them.
