Turning around in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 8092 )
Q1: It happened that I prayed in the Makkah Haram, but there was an African man beside me. After he said the takbir of ihram, he looked to the right, then looked to the left, and continued his prayer without repeating the takbir of ihram. When we finished performing the prayer, I told him: You must repeat your prayer because you invalidated it by looking. He said to me: What is your evidence? I said: I have no evidence, but come to the Shaykh. He said: I have no doubt in my religion, you go. What is the ruling and what is the evidence?

A1: There is a prohibition against turning around in prayer, and it is described as a theft that Satan steals from the servant’s prayer. In (Sahih al-Bukhari) , through its chain, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said:
I asked God’s Messenger about looking to the side during prayer and he said, “It is something which the devil snatches from a servant’s prayer.”سألت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الالتفات في الصلاة فقال: هو اختلاس يختلسه الشيطان من صلاة العبد
Mishkat al-Masabih 982
. From this, it is known that turning around in prayer is disliked and reduces its reward, but it is not obligatory to repeat the prayer for one who turned around in his prayer; because it is established in other hadiths that turning around is permissible when there is a need for it. From this, it is known that it does not invalidate the prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
