Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 10616 )
Q6: Is it permissible for a Muslim to pray while he is trying to relieve himself?
A6: It is not permissible for a Muslim to pray while he is holding back urine or feces; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No prayer can be (rightly said) when the food is there (before the worshipper), or when he is prompted by the call of nature.لا صلاة بحضرة الطعام، ولا وهو يدافعه الأخبثان
Sahih Muslim 560a
It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
