The Prayer for the Absent Deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eleventh question of Fatwa No. ( 5394 )
Q11: Is it permissible to perform the funeral prayer for an absent deceased, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did with his beloved al-Najashi , or was that specific to him?
A11: It is permissible to perform the funeral prayer for an absent deceased due to the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is not specific to him, for his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) prayed with him for al-Najashi , and because the original principle is the absence of specificity. However, it should be restricted to those who have a status in Islam, not for everyone. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
