Q: We have seen in the hadith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited announcing something in the mosque, such as a card or a passport or the like. But if the lost item is a person, is it permissible to announce that in the mosque, such as a boy, a child, a young man, or an old man?
A: It is not permissible to announce lost items inside the mosque, whether the lost item is property, an animal, or a person; due to the generality of the prohibition against announcing lost items in the mosque.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
