The ruling on calling out for lost items in the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to call out for lost items inside the mosque?

Answer:
It is not permissible to do that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone hears a man crying out in the mosque about something he has lost, he should say: May Allah not restore it to youمن سمع رجلًا ينشد ضالة في المسجد فليقل: لا ردها الله عليك
Sahih Muslim 568a
. To call out means to seek a lost item, saying, "Who knows about such-and-such?" or "Who can point me to such-and-such?" This is not permissible in mosques, for they were not built for this. However, one may stand outside the mosque, at the door from the outside, and call out; there is no harm in that.
The point is that if one stands at the door from the outside and calls out, that is sufficient. As for doing it from inside the mosque, it is not permissible. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
