The sale of statues and making them his merchandise

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of the fatwa number ( 4763 ):
Q4: Is it permissible for a Muslim to sell statues and make them his merchandise and live from that?
A4 : It is not permissible for a Muslim to sell statues or trade in them; because of what is established in the authentic hadiths regarding the prohibition of depicting beings with souls, and of erecting statues of them absolutely, and of keeping them. There is no doubt that trading in them
involves promoting them and assisting in their depiction and installation in homes, clubs, and the like. If that is forbidden, then earning from their creation and sale is forbidden, and it is not permissible for a Muslim to live from it, whether by eating from it or otherwise. If he has fallen into that, he must get rid of it and repent to Allah the Exalted, hoping that He will accept his repentance. Allah the Exalted said:
But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance.وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى
[Taha 20:82]
. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
