The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9604 ):
Q1: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ali ... do not sleep except that you do certain things which are: A - Reciting the entire Qur'an. B - Giving charity of four thousand dirhams. C - Visiting the Ka'bah . D - Preserving your place in Paradise. E - Satisfying your adversaries." Then Ali (may Allah honor his face) said: How is that, O Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know that if you recite[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
three times, you have recited the entire Qur'an, and if you recite (al-Fatihah) four times, you have given charity of four thousand dirhams, and if you say: (There is no god but Allah alone, having no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, He gives life and He causes death, and He is over all things competent) ten times, you have visited the Ka'bah, and if you say: (There is no power and no strength except by Allah, the Most High, the Great) ten times, you have preserved your place in Paradise, and if you say: (I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Great, who has no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him), you have satisfied your adversaries." Your Eminence: We request from your Eminence to clarify the chain of narration of this hadith, and is it an authentic hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?
A1: This hadith has no basis; rather, it is one of the fabrications, from the lies of some of the Shi'ah , as the Imams of hadith have pointed out. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
