Q2: Who are the Mothers of the Believers? And what is their number?
A2: Their number is nine, and they are: A'ishah , and Hafzah , and Umm Salama , and Umm Habiba, the daughter of Abu Sufyan , and Juwayriyah, the daughter al-Harith , and Sawdah, the daughter of Zama'ah , and Zaynab, the daughter of Jahsh , and Safiyyah, the daughter of Huyay , and Maymunah, the daughter of al-Harith . These are the wives who were in his marriage bond when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away. And among his wives, the Mothers of the Believers, was Khadijah, the daughter of Khuwaylid (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the mother of most of his children and who passed away during his lifetime before the Hijrah. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
