The Ruling on Denying Faith from a Muslim

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 7233 ):

Q6: Denying faith from a Muslim.
A6: It is not permissible; rather, it is forbidden; for what is reported from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a person calls his brother (in Islam) a disbeliever, one of them will certainly deserve the title. If the addressee is so as he has asserted, the disbelief of the man is confirmed, but if it is untrue, then it will revert to him.إذا قال الرجل لأخيه: يا كافر، فقد باء بها أحدهما، فإن كان كما قال وإلاَّ رجعت عليه
Riyad as-Salihin 1732
Agreed upon. And from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)
say:
If somebody accuses another of disbelief or calls him the enemy of Allah, such an accusation will revert to him (the accuser) if the accused is innocent.من دعا رجلاً بالكفر، أو قال: يا عدو الله وليس كذلك إلاَّ حار عليه
Riyad as-Salihin 1733
Agreed upon. "Harra": returned. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
