Q: A Ruqyah circulated by some Bedouins for healing from venomous bites and the like, and this is the text of the Ruqyah:[Al-Fatihah 1:2-7]
Salaf, the beautiful one in faith, lent out the hours of life; he tore off the tatters, and a cry rent the sky, and the Lord took hold of it and sent a reading: Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Rifai , a Muslim, sent, and its validity is from the Lord of the Muslims. Its top is in the Throne, trembling, and its bottom is in the earth, shaking. It is not broken by wind or rain, nor by sun or moon, nor by one who testifies that camels eat the tenth, nor by one who does not carry a female without a male, and whoever disobeys his Lord is a disbeliever. I bind you by Allah, O this affliction, with the strong bindings of Allah: the first binding is by Allah, the second by Allah, the third by Allah, the fourth by Allah, the fifth by Allah, the sixth by Allah, the seventh by Allah, the eighth by Allah, the ninth by Allah, and the tenth by Allah. And what the Book does not suffice in the names of Allah, I bind you by the images of the One, and there is no one but Allah who is One. I bind you by the images of the Two, and the good from Allah is beautiful. I bind you by the images of the Three and the angels and the prophets. I bind you by the images of the Four, and Allah is good and fragrant. I bind you by the images of the Five and I seek refuge in Allah from Iblis. I bind you by the images of the Six and the listening angels. I bind you by the images of the Seven, and Allah is good and firm. Appear from the marrow in the bones, and appear from the bones in the nerves, and appear from the nerves in the sinew.
and appear from the skin in the earth. I bind by Allah on ninety-nine heads, their mother is the spider and their father is the serpent. I bind by Allah on the father of the large turban, whose head is the acacia tree and whose lodging is the thorn. I bind by Allah on the Sal and the Salwan. I bind by Allah on the Barbar. I bind by Allah on the Qarqar. I bind by Allah on the Afqam. I bind by Allah on the Aztam. I bind by Allah on the Bakhz al-Dufan. I bind by Allah on the dust and the flies. I bind by Allah on the running of the high places. I bind by Allah on the horses. I bind by Allah on the Qarwas. I bind by Allah on the guardian of the two sides. I bind by Allah on the one whose lodging is the rock and whose food is the grass, tearing with fangs, biting with tails. I reveal them by the Greatest Allah. I bind by Allah on the Hawa. I bind by Allah on the Hwayyan and the Sqa and the Sqiyan, the one I name and the one I do not name, the one who remembers and the one who forgets, by Allah on His praise. I bind by Allah on the Hamida. I bind by Allah on the Sa'da. I bind by Allah on the Sa'ida. I bind by Allah on the Mawza. I bind by Allah on the Mawiza. I bind by Allah on its red, its brown, its female and its male, and its father with two points from its most bitter. I bind by Allah on the white one like the fatty tissue. I bind by Allah on the red one like the flesh. And I bind by Allah on the black one like the coal. A scorpion, daughter of poison. And I overpower her by Allah the Subduer, the Subduer of night over day, by which there is no overpowering. As for the poison, a gourd of water traveled with me and a gourd of fire with it, and I poured the gourd of water on the gourd of fire, and the gourd of water extinguished the gourd of fire. I bind by Allah on its mouth like the saw, and I bind by Allah
on its belly like the bladder. I bind by Allah on its tail, the father of seven vertebrae, whose binding crowns the sharpened swords and whose binding crowns the sharpened spears. Musa the traveler preceded and became in the plains and dwellings, and he ate a hissing one from the hissing ones of Islam. I said: Enough, and I was sufficient from path to path, and I was sufficient from path to path, and from Sharan to Sharan, by the recitation of Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Rifai, the Subduer of the poisons of the vipers. And I said: O my protection, the bonds of Allah, a step where hope and portion are cut off, and a step of right with a wrong. Note: All these names mentioned are names of venomous creatures and names of jinn, according to the one who dictated this Ruqyah.
A: It is not permissible to use this Ruqyah because of the unknown names and the words whose meaning is not understood in it. It was reported in a hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:Sunan Abi Dawud 3883Sahih (Al-Albani) Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud . And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
