The ruling on fasting specific days in the month of Rajab

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 2608 ):

Q1: There are days in the month of Rajab that are fasted voluntarily. Should they be in the beginning, middle, or end of the month?
A1: No specific hadiths have been established regarding the virtue of fasting in the month of Rajab, except for what was narrated by al-Nasa'i and Abu Dawud and authenticated by Ibn Khuzaymah from the hadith of Usamah who said: I said:
O Messenger of Allah, I have not seen you fast in any month of the months as you fast in Sha'ban. He said: That is a month that people overlook between Rajab and Ramadan, and it is a month in which deeds are raised to the Lord of the Worlds, so I love for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.
, and only general hadiths have come regarding the encouragement to fast three days of every month, and the encouragement to fast the white days
of every month, which are the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth, and the encouragement to fast the sacred months, and fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. Rajab falls under the generality of this. If you are eager to choose days from the month, choose the three white days or Monday and Thursday; otherwise, the matter is broad. As for specifying days of Rajab for fasting, we do not know any basis for it in the Shari'ah. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
