Questions two and four of Fatwa No. ( 8943 ):
Q2: What are the types of beliefs that a Muslim must believe in?
A2: They are that you believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day, and that you believe in divine decree, its good and evil, its sweet and bitter, as Allah has explained in His Book and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has explained in his Sunnah, along with adhering to the five pillars of Islam and believing in them, which are: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the prayer, giving zakah, fasting Ramadan, and performing Hajj to the House, and believing that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is the sole one worthy of worship, and this is the meaning of the testimony that there is no god but Allah; its meaning is: there is no true object of worship but Allah, as the Exalted said in Surat al-Hajj:[Al-Hajj 22:62] , along with believing in the names and attributes of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) that are mentioned in the great Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and affirming them for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He)
in the manner befitting Him, as the Exalted said:[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]

There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
