Celebrating Mother's Day

The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 7912 ):
Q5: On exactly which day do Muslims celebrate Mother's Day, and is it
true that it is the day when the status of Fatimah al-Zahra increased?
A5: It is not permissible to celebrate what is called Mother's Day, nor any similar invented festivals; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1718b , and celebrating Mother's Day is not from his (peace and blessings be upon him) practice, nor from the practice of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), nor from the practice of the Salaf of the Ummah. Rather, it is a religious innovation and imitating the disbelievers. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
