A2: Salafiyyah: is a designation derived from the Salaf. The Salaf are the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the leaders of guidance from the people of the first three centuries (may Allah be pleased with them), whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) testified to as being good in his saying:Sahih al-Bukhari 2652 narrated by the Imam Ahmad in his Musnad
and al-Bukhari and Muslim. The Salafis are the plural of Salafi, a designation derived from the Salaf, whose meaning has been mentioned previously. They are those who followed the methodology of the Salaf in adhering to the Book and the Sunnah, calling to them, and acting upon them. Thus, they are the people of the Sunnah and the community . And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
