The Salafi Da'wah's Position Regarding the Schools of Jurisprudence and Their Imams. [The Reality of the Salafi Da'wah]
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The first point is: what is the position of the Salafi Da'wah regarding the schools of jurisprudence and their imams? This is the matter, and the most important one, as we have mentioned. The other matter is: is there anyone who claims affiliation with the Salafi Da'wah who speaks in such a manner as the writer mentioned, attributing part of it to their great scholars and another part to their middle-tier scholars? As for the first matter, we constantly and always speak about this, and we discussed some of it in the previous lesson, so I do not wish to lengthen the discussion. We always and constantly say that this Da'wah, the Salafi Da'wah, is established upon the understanding of the Book and the Sunnah, and upon the methodology of the righteous Salaf, who are those who were in the three centuries attested to as the best in the authentic hadith, indeed in the mass-transmitted reports Sahih al-Bukhari 3651. The four Imams and others who were their contemporaries, or preceded them, or followed them by a little—all of these are among the Imams of the righteous Salaf. We follow their example and it is them we follow in this Da'wah of ours. Therefore, it is absolutely inconceivable that a man of the Salafi school and methodology would disparage an Imam from among the Imams of the Muslims, or say such things about them, or disparage them, or wish for the burning of the books of these Imams and for no benefit to be derived from them.
