Explaining how to deal with texts that appear to contradict one another, and the Shaykh’s advice to his students not to pay attention to the words of those who are new in knowledge and who strike some texts against others.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The point is very, very clear: that it is obligatory to reconcile the texts, and it is not permissible to strike some of them against others. This is something that only a few among the scholars of knowledge are capable of. Therefore, I advise you—and the first thing I advise my neighbor here on the side to do is that he not pay attention to everyone who speaks, saying so-and-so said this and so-and-so said that. He should look into whether he is an elderly scholar in knowledge, one who is well-mannered with the manners of Islam and characterized by the morals of Islam, like Islam, and so on. If he is a novice, do not pay attention to him, do not care about him. It seems to us that he is preparing something new, preparing something new.
