Explaining the misguidance of some preachers who abandoned calling people to correct their beliefs and acts of worship.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : They may pray, but they do not know why they are praying? Because their prayer, according to what they read in their school of jurisprudence, if one is Shafi'i in school, he raises his hands when bowing and when rising from it, if one is Hanafi, he says: No, this is forbidden. The examples are many and very many, while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers صلُّوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
, so you do not find these preachers singing about teaching people the correct Salafi creed that the Messenger of Allah, his Companions, and the four Imams were upon. They do not sing about this, nor do they sing about explaining how the Messenger of Allah prayed so that the Muslim knows to follow the previous hadith:
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers صلُّوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
Why? His mind is occupied with interpreting the Qur'an, and especially according to modern sciences that have undoubtedly revealed some of the scientific miracles of the Qur'an, so he is not free to correct his own prayer according to the Sunnah, let alone to be free to correct the prayers of others, and their ideas and beliefs. And people like these, or these Shaykhs or scholars, are found in all countries. We have in Syria these preachers. If you attend the lesson of Shaykh Ahmad Kiftarou, you will find the mosque full to its capacity. What is the reason? Because his speech is sweet and delicious, and there is no rebuke of those around him for what they do, so he is pleased with them and they are pleased with him. And this is the point: he extends his hand, you accept it, one hand is not enough, so you extend the second hand, this is how he does it.

The questioner : As requested, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : And what I fear most, and I said this in Syria, is that a day will come when his congregation cannot fit to offer their hands, so what I fear most is that he will extend his leg so that they can catch up with him. If you had seen it, you would have seen a wonder. They stand, how do they stand? In Amman, in the crowd at the buses, you find them standing... meaning a long line. A bus came, the bus filled up, and they are still there, and so on. The group, these are the ones captivated by such a Shaykh, they stand in a line, and to catch up with his hand extensions, a line from here and a line from there. Is this the affair of the scholar?! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was not like that. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), as is established in the books of al-Shama'il, would sit with his Companions, he had no special attire. The Bedouin would enter, he would not see a king, he would not see a sultan, he would not see a great prince, and people would be standing over his head to serve him. So he would wonder and say, "Where is Muhammad? I do not see this man who moved the whole world with his correct call." They would say to him, "This is the one lying on his right side." This person whose appearance is simple does not suggest this greatness that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) magnified him with and blessed him with. So here we observe that the scholars, truly, are those who study the Book in its entirety, and especially what relates to correcting beliefs, then acts of worship.
As for the scientific, cosmic, and natural aspects, these undoubtedly benefit and increase the believer's faith in the power of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and His wisdom. But before that, it was obligatory for them to know how to worship Allah and not associate anything with Him. Today, if I tell you: in all the countries of the world, you find Muslims who intentionally visit graves, and some of them take the grave of a wali or a righteous person as a Ka'bah and circumambulate around it. Did you go to Egypt in your time?
The student : I went.

The Shaykh : Did you see the shrine of al-Husayn and Sayyida Zaynab and Ahmad al-Badawi?
The student : By Allah, I heard about them, but I did not go.

The Shaykh : You did not go, good.
The student : Yes, yes.

The Shaykh : That you are Jordanian.
The student : I am Jordanian, but now I am Saudi.

The Shaykh : But the origin is from Jordan...
The student : My father is Saudi and my mother is Jordanian, but I am Jordanian...

The Shaykh : My intention with the question is that I lived in Jordan.
The student : Of course, for forty years.

The Shaykh : That is it.
The student : The reality...

The Shaykh : So this is the point, you hear about the shrine of Sayyid...
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Good, did you see this huge grave that they built?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : This is all to captivate people so that they come and offer vows and seek nearness to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) through it. This calamity exists in all the countries of the world, andThe Shaykh : al-Sha'rawi and Kashkash do not speak a single word. Why? Because they do not want to confront the peoples, because they will turn them away, and they want to attract hearts with such sweet, beautiful speech. In Damascus, there is something of this, in Aleppo, something stranger than this. I have added a trait to you: I am Albanian, then Damascene, then Jordanian, and I know these countries, each one has what? A virtue or a calamity. Of course, Syria has famous capitals like Damascus and Aleppo, and between them Homs and Hama, and so on. In Aleppo, there is a large Umayyad mosque comparable to the Umayyad Mosque in the capital. In the Mosque of Banu Umayyah in Damascus, they claim that Yahya (peace be upon him) is buried in it. In the Mosque of Banu Umayyah in Aleppo, they claim his father, meaning Zakariyya, is buried in it. Both graves are targeted, and on each of them is a custodian whose job is that, by Allah, he guides people on how to visit this grave and that one, and how they must offer vows. One of them told me in Damascus that a woman came to visit the grave of Yahya (peace be upon him) in the mosque in Damascus, and the custodian heard her. It appears he had some awareness, but he had taken the custodianship as a means of livelihood. He heard this poor woman standing and supplicating, saying to him, "O my master Yahya, I came seeking nearness to Allah through you that our Lord will heal my son." What did the custodian say, mocking her? He said to her, "O lady, a lady came before you, so my master Yahya went with her. He went with her to heal her son or daughter, or or, and so on." These are very clear shirk farces.
