The meaning of the term "Sadiq" (truthful).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Because the term "Sadiq" in their general usage, with the exception of some of the imams like Abu Hatim al-Razi, when said about a narrator, means that his hadith is hasan (good), unlike when he is called thiqah (trustworthy), which means his hadith is sahih (authentic). Likewise, if it is said "there is no harm with him," it means his hadith is moderate; it is neither sahih nor da'if (weak), but rather hasan. So, if this phrase is coupled with the other phrase "he makes many mistakes," it means, as if he were called "Sadiq who makes many mistakes." The benefit of that is that he is not accused of dishonesty in his person; rather, he is truthful in himself, but he makes many mistakes. Yes.
