The Muslims' disagreement in matters of creed, the danger of this disagreement, and the denial by the misguided sects of the attribute of Allah's elevation - Mighty and Majestic.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : But this religion has come to have many concepts, and all Muslims, every single Muslim, live according to these different concepts, and all of them claim the concept of Islam. In matters of creed and the oneness of Allah, we have many schools of thought. If we speak about these schools of thought - among those who are called the people of the Sunnah and the community - we will find three schools: the school of the people of hadith, at the head of whom - and among the most famous of them - is the Imam of the Sunnah, Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him). This is one school. Opposing them is the school of the Maturidiyyah, and the school of the Asha'irah. These three are schools among those who are called the people of the Sunnah and the community. And if we leave the people of the Sunnah and move to others, there is the school of the Zaydiyyah, the school of the Ibadhiyyah, and the school of the Shi'ah, if not the Rafidah. All these schools in creed claim the meaning of Islam. How can it be Islam with the severe disagreement that exists between these schools, when Allah - Mighty and Majestic - speaks of the Islam that He revealed to the heart of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and He said to him in the Qur'an, as you just heard:
And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them
[An-Nahl 16:44]
; how can all these schools be Islam, when Allah - Mighty and Majestic - mentioned in the Qur'an that the religion with Allah is Islam, and that this is the religion that came in the Qur'an, and the Qur'an says:
If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.
[An-Nisa 4:82]
.
There is one issue in which the danger of this disagreement and its divergence from the correct Islam preserved in the Book of Allah becomes apparent, and that is the attribute of Allah - Mighty and Majestic - among His beautiful names, namely the Most High - Glory be to my Lord, the Most High - and the verses and hadiths related to this attribute. These verses and hadiths have been denied by all the sects we mentioned earlier, or the schools of thought of which we named many. They all agreed that Allah - Mighty and Majestic - is not described as having the attribute of elevation, except for one school, which is the school of the people of hadith. They are the ones who say in interpreting His saying - the Exalted - :
The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.
[Taha 20:5]
meaning: He ascended.
As for the others, the Asha'irah, the Maturidiyyah, the Zaydiyyah, the Ibadhiyyah, and the Shi'ah or the Rafidah, all of these denied Allah - Mighty and Majestic - of the attribute of elevation, and they said: Allah is present in every place, Allah is present in every existence. So they confined Him to His creation, even in the filthiest places of this creation, such as the taverns, the bars, the back alleys, and the like. All of this is called religion, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
until you return to your original religion
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Do you see if every follower of a school returns to his school, does he return to this religion? The answer is: No; because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
until you return to your original religion
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
; he meant the original religion with the correct concept.
