The questioner : And there is an observation.

The Shaykh : Please go ahead.

The questioner : Most people today are falling into this issue, especially those like us from the common people.

The Shaykh : There is blessing in you.

The questioner : He says: Take these fifteen thousand riyals, and after a year, if Allah wills, I will give you a new car of the best model. What is the ruling on this issue?

The Shaykh : Give me a car in exchange for what?

The questioner : Now they give a person fifteen thousand.

The Shaykh : Very well.

The questioner : And after a year, give me a new car for one hundred thousand, for fifty thousand, for twenty thousand, for thirty thousand. People are falling into this now.

The Shaykh : Okay, but the car that he specifies!

The questioner : It is not available.

The Shaykh : No, no, this is the one who gives fifteen thousand in exchange for giving you a new car!

The questioner : New.

The Shaykh : How do you mean, for a price or without a price?

The questioner : In exchange for these fifteen thousand.

The Shaykh : And what is the price of the car, more?

The questioner : The car has not yet come into existence up to now; it has not arrived.

The Shaykh : So it is a sale of an unknown item?

The questioner : He is unknown.

The Shaykh : Of course, this is not permissible.

The questioner : And the value of the car, even the current one that he gives him, its value is forty.

The Shaykh : No, this is riba (usury or interest).
