The questioner : About camel meat and wiping after it. He says, “A teacher of ours says that camel meat does not invalidate the ablution. We asked him why, and he said: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they gathered at the home of one of them and ate camel meat. A foul smell came from one of them, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, so as not to embarrass the one whose smell came from eating camel meat, let him perform ablution. The Companions performed ablution so as not to embarrass their companion either. He says it became a custom that whoever eats camel meat should perform ablution. He also says: And we students say that we studied in elementary school that whoever eats camel meat should perform ablution, and the teacher did not tell this story. Please advise us; may Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : This story has no basis whatsoever; it is a lie attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : O Allah, send blessings.

The Shaykh : He can say, “Whoever has done this, let him perform ablution” at that moment.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : It is not obligatory for all people to perform ablution because of the unknown cause of this sound that occurred in him, nor is it obligatory for the general community.
Perform wudu' from camel meat توضؤوا من لحوم الإبل
A man asked him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, do I perform ablution from the meat of sheep?” He said
If you wish إن شئت
He said, “Do I perform ablution from the meat of camels?” He said
Yes نعم
When the ablution from the meat of sheep was left to one’s will, that indicates that the ablution from the meat of camels is not left to one’s will, and this is the meaning of the obligation of ablution from camel meat.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Therefore, the Muslim must perform ablution after eating camel meat, and the story woven around this person who performed ablution because he ate camel meat... this is not authentic.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : You have done well, and may Allah guide us and you.
This is also a message, and the last question in this session, which we received from Muhammad 'Azaz al-Sulami.
