The questioner : The completion of the hadith ... "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the mukhannath men and the women who imitate men," and what is the authenticity of this hadith? And what is its meaning?

The Shaykh : What is the authenticity of this hadith? As for the hadith, it is authentic. The mukhannath is the man who imitates women in his clothing, in his gait, and in his effeminacy—as I mentioned earlier. This mukhannath who imitates women has no manliness, so he is cursed. And as it came in a hadith in al-Bukhari with the wording:
God has cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men لعن الله المتشبِّهين من الرجال بالنساء ، والمتشبِّهات من النساء بالرجال
Mishkat al-Masabih 4429
. As for the women who imitate men, they are those who imitate men; that is, they imitate men in their gait, in their swagger, in walking down the middle of the roads, in mixing with men, in sitting with men. So any action that men do, if they imitate this specific action of men, it is tarajjul, which is the woman imitating men, and that is not permissible.
And the ugliest imitation is for a woman to wear a man's clothing. For example, if a man's garment is short, she wears the short garment. If a man uncovers his head, his face, and part of his chest, she also imitates him in that. Therefore, this is among the worst imitations a woman commits, so she deserves the curse of Allah and being far from the Paradise of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), as it came in the authentic hadith:
Two categories of people I have not seen yet: men with whips in their hands like the tails of cattle, with which they strike people, and women who are clothed yet naked, swaying and causing others to sway, their heads like the tilted humps of camels. Curse them, for they are cursed; they will not enter Paradise, nor will they find its scent, and its scent is found from a distance of so much and so much.
. And it came in some other hadiths that the scent of Paradise is found from a distance of a hundred miles. So men should strive not to allow themselves to imitate anything related to women, and not to allow the women who are attached to them to imitate men; in order to preserve for them being brought near to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) and not being far from His mercy (Mighty and Majestic).
