A question may occur to some of you: What about following the mosques on the pretext of the imam's voice or the beauty of the imam's voice?

The questioner : A question may occur to some of you: What about following the mosques on the pretext of the imam's voice or the beauty of the imam's voice?

The Shaykh : If the imam's voice is melodic in a way that contradicts the Shari'ah, then this is an excuse worse than a sin. However, if one intends to go to an imam in a mosque far from him who is proficient in prayer, perfects it, and preserves its recommended practices and etiquettes, and may deliver a sermon from which people benefit after the completion of the prayer, then this is not going to the mosque for the sake of increasing steps, but rather for the sake of acquiring knowledge. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever takes a path upon which he seeks knowledge, then Allah makes a path to Paradise easy for him. من سلك طريقًا يلتمس به علمًا سلكَ الله به طريقًا إلى الجنة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2682Da'if (Darussalam)
. So the previous observation is about making an effort to walk in order to gain reward for these steps because the mosque is far; this is what is intended by the prohibition of following the mosques.
Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you and benefit people through you.
