Refuting the doubts and arguments of those who classify religious innovations into good and bad.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: It is inevitable that someone will say or ask: The majority of scholars today hold that bid'ah (religious innovation) includes both good and bad; and they must have some evidence for this. What is this evidence, and what is our response to it?
This matter is not new, for truth and falsehood are in constant conflict, because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
(118) And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ. (119) Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together."
[Hud 11:118-119]
. Therefore, this disagreement is continuous. So when a person brings up a doubt today that he imagines to be evidence, he has in reality not brought anything new. And when we refute this doubt, we have also not brought anything new, because we are preceded by this truth to which we call people. This is from the favor of Allah upon us and upon the people
but most of the people do not know." وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
[Al-A'raf 7:187]
