The Shaykh’s response to those who objected to him regarding the obligation of the migration of the oppressed from Palestine
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And the strange thing is that he is now quoting my words, saying that when I say it is obligatory to leave Palestine from under the Jewish occupation, it is not for comfort and submission, but for action to expel the Jews from Palestine. So he says, "The bitter truth is, where are these countries that will help the Palestinians, and so on." He ignores the fact that if the truth is such, can these Palestinians, by remaining in Palestine, manage to expel the Jews from Palestine, while other countries do not move to help them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left Makkah for Madinah to prepare the atmosphere and the possible preparations for the invasion of Makkah. So, are these people who now say it is obligatory to remain, and who affirm this in the conclusion of his article, and for whom it is forbidden to migrate, are they achieving the goal that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) aimed for with his migration from Makkah to Madinah? The circumstances now are changing, and he brings examples that also indicate that the man is completely shallow in thinking. He says, "What about the incident of apostasy and the like?" Did anyone order these people to migrate? Glory be to Allah! A fitnah arose from the apostates, and they rebelled against the Rightly Guided Caliph Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr did not order those Muslims who were swept away by the people of apostasy to migrate. Abu Bakr had a caliphate and had the capacity for jihad, and he was completely confident that he would fulfill the duty of fighting these apostates. And by that, the colonizers among these apostates would remain in their lands. He compares the situation here to the situation there, where the situation here completely suggests that there is no day for the Palestinians that is worse than the previous one, because they are increasing in weakness and the Jews are increasing in strength due to the siege imposed to protect the Jews, not to help the Muslims there. Therefore, the truth is that I have only increased in faith in the correctness of the original Islamic legal ruling and the error of these superficial, formalists who cling to the necessity of holding onto the land, then they do not care about the outcome of those who cling to this land, which is ruled by a Jewish judgment. They do not look at the outcome. For example, they do not consider al-Andalus; when al-Andalus became a Christian land, the Muslims who settled there, over time, either became Christians or concealed their faith, and it is inevitable that their descendants became perished. These writers do not think about the outcome at all. They only look now at the necessity of holding onto the land, because abandoning the land is a strength for the Jews and assistance to the Jews. And I do not deny that this actually achieves for the Jews some of what they want. But a person does not look with a present, localized view, but rather looks to the distance. He is dealing with the issue of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) migration from Makkah to Madinah. He says, "This is not an evacuation for the Jews, or rather for the polytheists, because the Prophet went and migrated to Madinah for what? To attack the polytheists, and that was the case." So, is the matter for these people as he says about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? The Prophet evacuated the land, without doubt, meaning Makkah. And these people, if they respond to the commanded migration, they will evacuate the land. Here he says evacuating the land is not permissible, but there it is obligatory. And why the distinction? Because there was a preparation to return the land to the Muslims, and here there is no preparation to return the land to the Muslims. So let the Muslims remain in Palestine. Will this remaining enable them to expel the Jews? The answer is obviously no, neither intellectually, nor militarily, nor religiously, that the remaining of the weak in the land enables him to expel the strong from this land. These are completely impossible matters. And therefore, the article, despite its length, contains a very deep ignorance regarding, first, the Islamic legal ruling, where he did not address that migration is obligatory as a rule, and that he says, "But here, for example, it is not applicable, as if the ruling is milder than what he went to, when I felt that there is no migration after the conquest, as I felt with that poor preacher. But you say that the second tape corrected the position, as the position was corrected by this same Palestinian named Abu Salah, whom we met for the first time, who stated that Sahih al-Bukhari 3899 was abrogated for migration. And then, the day before yesterday, he stated that there is no migration, but those who are in Palestine are, for example, mujahideen, and so on. He turned the topic around. And then, when we wanted to hear him speak about Ibn Taymiyyah’s statement that migration continues until the Day of Resurrection, he turned his back. And Allah is the One to be sought for help.
The student : He says, does Al-Albani now do as the Prophet did?
The Shaykh : Hmm.
The questioner : And he raises his followers until he surprises us with a vast army, or does he wait for the last Palestinian to leave?
The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar, and what does Al-Albani do? Glory be to Allah! Al-Albani does not possess anything but himself, but he possesses some knowledge which he presents to the people. So whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve. What is the difference between him and me, or between one who is stronger than me here in terms of power, strength, and group, and so on? There is no difference.
The student : Then, our Shaykh, glory be to Allah, their deception, meaning they built all these issues on the tape, and they are distorting in the tape.
The Shaykh : This is a clear thing.
The student : Allah is the Helper.
The Shaykh : In any case, now he is here, not there. He is in this article, not there. And it appears that the speech that you quoted to me from some of the youth has had an effect on him.
The questioner : If Allah wills.
The Shaykh : But he did not moderate his view. He did not moderate it. He remains clinging to the contrary of what is said: that the land is by its inhabitants, not by its walls. So they cling to the land. This one named Hamid, whom we do not know who he is, meaning he is holding good arguments. Perhaps it is also a pseudonym for one of the fair-minded people. Narrated Mujahid bin Jabir Al-Makki: `Abdullah bin `Umar used to say, "There is no more Hijrah (i.e. migration) after the Conquest of Mecca."
