The Obligation of Describing Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with the Attributes of Perfection and Affirming His Oneness

The Shaykh : This is part of the completion of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), which we described as pure tawhid, that we believe that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) possesses all attributes of perfection. When we speak of tawhid al-rububiyyah (oneness of lordship) and tawhid al-uluhiyyah (oneness of worship)—pardon me—tawhid al-rububiyyah, tawhid al-uluhiyyah, or tawhid al-'ibadah (oneness of servitude), and tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat (oneness of the names and attributes)—we do not truly believe in Allah in His essence unless we describe Him with what He has described Himself with.
