Is the one who prays twenty rak'ahs of tarawih contrary to the Sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This question is repeated often, especially on the occasion of Ramadan. As I felt, directing this question is repeating what I have said before in my answer.
The first question: Is the one who prays twenty rak'ahs of tarawih contrary to the Sunnah?
The answer to this: If we pray the tarawih prayer of twenty rak'ahs, we are considered to be contrary to the Sunnah; that is because we know the Sunnah. As for the one who assumes that the twenty rak'ahs are the Sunnah, we do not say to him: You have contradicted the Sunnah, but we say: ... the Sunnah.
The second question. Naturally, this is an answer according to the atmosphere and the tightness of time. Whoever wants detail and has a desire for reading and study, we have a detailed treatise on this issue titled "The Tarawih Prayer," and then we summarized it in a treatise of about a quarter of that length under the title "The Virtue of Standing in Ramadan." So whoever wishes, let him refer to one of the two treatises.
