A word by "Abu Malik" regarding the Salaf's division of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) into oneness of worship, oneness of lordship, and oneness of the names and attributes.

Among the most prominent of those who mentioned this division is Shaykh al-Islam, who is a thorn in the throats of such as you have heard, and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) is among those who filled the earth with knowledge, and they surpassed in their knowledge, I do not say the sheikhs of these ignorant people, but rather they surpassed in their knowledge the entire world. In any case, I am making a supplication for this brother, so I say: May Allah forgive him and guide him to the straight path, and do good to him with what he has declared of his belief which still lives among the Muslims, so this is a confirmed proof of the truth of what I told you on the pulpit that these vile beliefs still have people who believe in them.
And I ask Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to guide the Muslims to what is in their good and to the path of guidance, and to purify the matter of Islam from these who refused but to be corrupters in the land, and peace be upon you.
