A word from some of Shaykh Al-Albani's students regarding the Salaf's division of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) into oneness of worship, oneness of lordship, and oneness of the names and attributes.

I indicated that this division mentioned by this brother, I mentioned that this division is not known in the Prophetic Sunnah, but rather it is a terminological division brought by the righteous Salaf (may Allah be pleased with them). Among the most prominent of those who mentioned this division is Shaykh al-Islam, who is a thorn in the throats of such as you have heard, and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) is among those who filled the earth with knowledge and surpassed in their knowledge. I do not say they surpassed the sheikhs of these ignorant people, but rather they surpassed the entire world in their knowledge. In any case, I pray for this brother, and I say: May Allah forgive him and guide him to the straight path, and do good to him with what he has declared of his belief, which still lives among the Muslims. This is clear proof of the truth of what I told you on the pulpit, that these vile beliefs are still believed by some. And I ask Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to guide the Muslims to what is in their good and to the path of guidance, and to purify the matter of Islam from these who refused to be anything but corrupters in the land.
