Clarifying the misguidance of many theologians in their separation of knowledge and action.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : "This is something that many theologians have overlooked in the issues of faith; they came to believe that it is mere affirmation without deeds. This is one of the ugliest and greatest errors. Many of the disbelievers were certain of the truth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), with no doubt in it, but that affirmation was not accompanied by the deeds of the heart: loving what he brought, being pleased with it, desiring it, and showing loyalty and hostility on its account. Do not neglect this point, for it is extremely important. Through it, you know the reality of faith. Theoretical issues are practical, and practical issues are theoretical. The Lawgiver did not accept from those obligated, in practical matters, mere action without knowledge, nor in theoretical matters, mere knowledge without action."
It is established from the words of Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) that the aforementioned separation, in addition to being invalid by consensus because it contradicts the practice of the Salaf and the clear evidence mentioned above regarding its contradiction, is also invalid from the perspective of the separators' conception that it is not obligatory for knowledge to be accompanied by action and action by knowledge. This is a very important point that helps the believer understand the subject correctly and believe with certainty in the invalidity of the aforementioned separation. Furthermore, the preceding research and establishment of the invalidity of the aforementioned separation is entirely based on the assumption that the report of a single narrator only yields the stronger opinion, and does not yield certainty and definitive knowledge.
