The Shaykh: In the third or fourth hadith - which is also authentic - he said: And from Abu Malik al-Ash'ari, from his father, that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, how do I say it when I ask my Lord? He said: Sahih Muslim 2697c, Sahih Muslim 2697c; these four words gather for you the good of this world and the Hereafter; because your saying: cleanses you of your sins and transgressions, that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) encompass you with His mercy in this world and in the Hereafter, in my body, in my health, what makes me self-sufficient so that I do not ask anyone other than You, O my Lord; therefore he (peace be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 2697c Narrated by Muslim.
" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, protect me, provide me sustenance," and he collected his fingers together except his thumb and said: It is in these words (that there is supplication) which sums up for you (the good) of this world and that of the Hereafter.
قل : اللهم اغفر لي ، وارحمني ، وعافني ، وارزقني - ويجمع أصابعه إلا الإبهام - فإن هؤلاء تجمع لك دنياك وآخرتكO Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, protect me, provide me sustenance
اللهم اغفر لي ، وارحمني ، وعافني ، وارزقنيForgive me
اغفر ليAnd have mercy on me
وارحمنيAnd grant me well-being
وعافنيAnd provide for me
وارزقنيwhich sums up for you (the good) of this world and that of the Hereafter.
فإنَّ هؤلاء تجمع لك دنياك وآخرتك
