The questioner : You know the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to Hudhayfah, and his command to him to adhere to the congregation of the Muslims and their imam. Today, the congregations have multiplied until the matter has become confused for the student of knowledge as to which congregation is the one intended in our time. We ask for clarification of the name of the congregation that truly calls to the Book and the Sunnah, so that one may be with their congregation.

The Shaykh : This question seems to be a repetition of what we discussed yesterday. However, the reality is that the recurrence of these questions indicates that there is severe disagreement in the air. It is this disagreement that raises these questions and necessitates their repetition and the repetition of the answers to them.
We mentioned yesterday that the saved sect is one single sect, and we also mentioned its sign by the text of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). It is the one that is upon what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was upon. I will add now by mentioning a hadith, which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers.
Sunan Ibn Majah 3987Hasan (Darussalam)
. They said: O Messenger of Allah, who are these strangers? He said:
they will set right the corruptions caused in my sunna by people after my death
Mishkat al-Masabih 170Isnād Da'īf Jiddan (Zubair `Aliza'i)
. This is part of the description of the saved sect; that they are
who correct what the people have corrupted from my Sunnah after me
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2630Da'if (Darussalam)
. So the questioner must look into these many congregations about which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) foretold in the hadith of Hudhayfah. So which is the congregation that calls to adhering to the Book and the Sunnah in speech and action? I say in speech and action because we explained to you yesterday that all the sects, no matter how far they are from the Book and the Sunnah, say: "We call to the Book and the Sunnah." Therefore, we are not satisfied with mere speech; because speech that contradicts action is also one of the characteristics of the hypocrites. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says in the Noble Qur'an:
(2) O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? (3) Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.
[As-Saf 61:2-3]
. So all the congregations, in terms of their speech, all of them say: "The Book and the Sunnah are our beginning, our slogan, and our call is based on that." But did action accompany this call, this speech?
I think that if you remember this fact, it will become clear to you that all the congregations are not there, and they are not upon the Book and the Sunnah except in terms of speech. Many of them do not require you to mix with them to realize their distance in their worship from the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), but rather their distance from the correct creed that came in the Book and the Sunnah. In fact, if you look at them, their appearance indicates to you that they are not of the Book and the Sunnah in any way. Many of them take the Islamic appearances lightly and do not give them any weight at all. Is this from the Book and the Sunnah? We all know that it is from the Sunnah the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Trim the mustache and let the beard grow, and differ from the Jews and the Christians.
. And from his hadiths (peace be upon him) that even many of those who adhere to the Sunnah have abandoned is his saying (peace be upon him):
The Jews and the Christians do not dye (their hair), so differ from them.
Sunan Ibn Majah 3621Sahih (Darussalam)
.

The questioner : In a question... a question about this.
