Ruling on Commercial Store Contests

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In these days, advertisements have become numerous regarding the placement of prizes in commercial stores,For example: in stations and newspapers, where whoever buys for a certain amount receives a card that enters them into a contest drawn after a certain period, and they obtain a prize. And the buyer, if you discuss it with him, says: I buy without intending the prize, so we hope for a detailed explanation on this?

This issue, may Allah bless you, has a detail: If a person buys from this store without the intention of buying, but for the sake of the prize, this is not permissible. Or if the store owner has raised the price higher than others and he bought it, this is also not permissible; because the buyer will be either a gainer or a loser, and this rule is, in reality, gambling.
As for if the person will buy in any case, and the price has not been raised, and the card given to him has no value,Meaning: given to him for free, then there is nothing wrong with it; because this buyer is either safe or a gainer, there is no loss.
And if they stipulate a specific amount of money to be bought with, there is nothing wrong with it.

I say: Whoever buys for the sake of the prize, this is forbidden and not permissible, because I heard some people buying cans of milk when they do not want it, but they say: Perhaps I will encounter the prize. This is not permissible; because he wasted his money without benefit. So the rule with us is: First: If he does not buy except for the sake of the prize, this is forbidden.

Second: If the price of the item has been raised, this is also forbidden.

Third: If he buys for his need for this item and the price has not been raised, then there is nothing wrong with it; because either the prize comes to him, or it does not come to him. If it comes to him, he has gained without loss, and if it does not come to him, he is safe and has not lost anything.
