If the imam prays without ritual purity, the ma'mum (those praying behind him) do not have to repeat the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: An imam led a congregational prayer, and when he finished, he informed them that he was not in a state of ritual purity. Do the ma'mum (those praying behind him) have to repeat the prayer?
If the imam prays without ritual purity, the ma'mum (those praying behind him) do not have to repeat the prayer; the obligation to repeat it falls on him. If he remembers after the prayer, there is no doubt about the ruling. If he remembers during the prayer, he must turn away and it is not permissible for him to complete the prayer while not in a state of wudu' (ablution). Then, in this situation, he may either appoint one of the people behind him to say: "So-and-so, complete the prayer for them," or he may turn away without appointing anyone. Then, the congregation after him may either complete their prayers individually, or they may appoint one person to lead them in a congregation.
