The ma'mum learns before the prayer that his imam is not in a state of ritual purity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of fatwa number ( 20320 )
Q2: What is the ruling for one who discovers that his imam is not in a state of ritual purity , so what does he do?
A2 : If the ma'mum learns before the prayer that his imam is not in a state of ritual purity, then it is
not permissible for him to pray behind him, and likewise if he learns of this during the prayer and the imam does not appoint someone else to lead; because ritual purity is a condition of the prayer, and it is obligatory for him to repeat the prayer if he prayed behind him. However, if the ma'mum did not learn of it until after the prayer, his prayer is valid, and he owes no repetition. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
