The ruling on one who catches the final tashahhud in his mosque, then leaves and hears another mosque calling for prayer
If a man does not catch anything of the prayer with the imam except the final tashahhud, and the imam says the taslim and stands up to complete this prayer, then he leaves the mosque and hears another mosque calling for prayer from the start, is it permissible for him to enter that mosque and consider the prayer he prayed as a voluntary prayer until he catches the obligatory prayer in full congregation, or catches the takbirat al-ihram, or not?
If he catches the imam in the final tashahhud and enters with him and prays, and completes his prayer, then his obligation is discharged, and he has performed the obligatory prayer, and it is not befitting for him to go to another mosque to pray in it. But if, hypothetically, he has a matter in the other mosque and enters and finds the people praying, he prays with them, and it will be a voluntary prayer for him—I mean the second one.By the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (If you have prayed in your lodging, then come to a mosque of congregation and pray with them, it will be a voluntary prayer for you) They said: This is regarding two men who missed the prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—the Fajr prayer in the mosque of al-Khayr in Mina—so when he saw them, he called them and asked them about the reason,So they said: We prayed in our lodging.

The questioner: What about the virtue of the congregation in the first prayer? The Shaykh: The virtue of the congregation is according to the state of this person. If he is keen on the congregation and it is his habit to pray with the congregation, but he missed it for an excuse, it is hoped that the full reward of the congregation will be written for him, by analogy to the sick person and the traveler,So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Whoever is sick or travels, it is written for him what he used to do while healthy and resident).
