The Difference Between Tarawih Prayer and Qiyam al-Layl

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the difference between the tarawih prayer, which is performed after the 'Isha' prayer, and the qiyam al-layl prayer, which is performed in the last part of the night in Ramadan?
There is no difference between them; the tarawih prayer may be performed in the first part of the night or in the last part of the night. However, people in the last ten days of Ramadan like to keep the night awake in emulation of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), because he used to keep the entire night awake in the last ten days. For this reason, they perform the qiyam al-layl in the last part of the night, and the light prayer they call tarawih in the first part of the night. There is nothing wrong with this.
