Issue: Is seeking knowledge a form of jihad in the path of Allah, and is the student of knowledge given from zakah?

The Shaykh : Now, is seeking knowledge a form of jihad in the path of Allah?
If the knowledge is religious, then it is a form of jihad in the path of Allah. Accordingly, if a person devotes himself to seeking knowledge while he is capable of earning a living, we give him from the zakah so that he can devote himself to knowledge and not engage in earning a living, because knowledge is undoubtedly jihad in the path of Allah, since jihad in the path of Allah includes the jihad of knowledge and explanation, and the jihad of the sword and spears.
