Ruling on Combining Employment with Trade

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is it permissible for anyone to prevent someone from doing something that is permissible? The Shaykh: How?The questioner: For example, the state prevents a person from opening a shop while he is an employee, and this is permissible. Does he obey them in this matter?

It is obligatory for a person to listen and obey the rulers, except in disobedience to Allah, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The believer must listen and obey in what he likes and dislikes, as long as he is not ordered to commit a sin. If he is ordered to commit a sin, there is no listening and no obedience.) Also, this is a condition in the contract: that you either commit to the obligations of the job, or you leave the job.And Allah the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts.يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَوْفُوا بِالْعُقُودِ
[Al-Ma'idah: 1] And He said:
And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned.وَأَوْفُوا بِالْعَهْدِ إِنَّ الْعَهْدَ كَانَ مَسْؤُولاً
[Al-Isra: 34] So it is obligatory for us to obey our rulers in everything they order, as long as they do not order disobedience to Allah. If they order disobedience, there is no listening to them and no obedience in what they ordered of disobedience to Allah.
