One who seeks a job while currently holding one: what should he do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Another questioner : The one who has already entered the job: what should he do?

The Shaykh : He has entered it?

The questioner : In the job.

The Shaykh : That means he is currently an employee? The matter is easy: he should repent to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and not repeat the mistake.

The questioner : How does he not repeat the mistake? Does it mean he does not continue the mistake?

The Shaykh : No, he does not repeat the mistake, just as we discussed with Professor Talat earlier. For example, this reminds me that in our region in Sham, occasions arise where the state, for instance, announces that it has raised the salaries of a group of employees, and a month or two or three passes, and then the owners of religious duties, as they are called today, unfortunately, protest in the streets and roads. What is the point of these protests? That they must raise our salaries and pensions, in line with others. From whom? Employees. The employee in physics and chemistry has the right to do this; but the employee in the imamate, the khutbah, and the adhan, and so on, does not have the right to do this. This is what I mean: he should be content with what has happened to him, repent to Allah, and not repeat the mistake anymore. Is that clear?

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : What about the one who obtained or sought to obtain a study grant from the government and was obligated to take a specific job? He was obligated to take the job. Does he receive the same ruling if he seeks to improve his job status after being employed?

The Shaykh : 'Ukashah got ahead of you with this.

The questioner : That means he sought a grant and was obligated to take the job?

The Shaykh : Oh Professor, seeking the grant is from this category.

The questioner : Seeking the grant in the case where study opportunities are not available or financial means are not provided, and he obtained a study grant from the Ministry of Awqaf or the Ministry of Education and was obligated to take a job, so during the job he also sought to obtain or improve his job status?

The Shaykh : Akasha got ahead of you with this. The answer is the same. And this is a second Akasha here. (The student brothers laugh)

The questioner: May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : I think the answer is clear?

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : May Allah preserve you.
Al-Halabi : Is it not said, O Shaykh, in this matter that a person seeks to improve his intention and rectify his heart in this?

The Shaykh : When does he do that?
Al-Halabi : That means if he is currently involved in this matter that he is in...

The Shaykh : That is the meaning of our words: that he does not return to such things. Yes, that is right.
Al-Halabi : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.

The questioner : It seems to me

The Shaykh : So, let your neighbor have his turn because he had something to say.

The questioner : I have a question, actually, with another angle regarding the hadith. If possible, before that, I will speak about what pertains to the topic.

The Shaykh : Well done, please go ahead, Professor. And then you paved the way, so to speak, for the next question.

The questioner : Now, as we understood, seeking a job from the government is not permissible. So, what is the evidence? That is, can we apply evidence, for example, his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
We do not appoint our affairs thus لا نولي أمرنا كذا
Can we apply this text to this matter?

The Shaykh : It is so, may Allah reward you. Because I said earlier that the state requires various types of jobs.
