The Necessary and Transitive Names in the Names of Allah the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: What is the difference between transitive names and non-transitive names in the Names of Allah the Exalted?

The meaning of the transitive Names of Allah: Transitive names extend to others, while necessary names are non-transitive. For example, (Al-Hayy) is one of the Names of Allah the Exalted, and it is a non-transitive name. Therefore, one must believe in the name and the attribute it indicates, which is life.
As for a transitive name, meaning one that extends to others, such as (Al-Khaliq), one must believe in it, affirm the name which is Al-Khaliq, affirm the attribute which is creation, and affirm the ruling that He creates.Do not say: One must not say that He is only a Creator; one must believe that He is a Creator and that He creates, Mighty and Majestic.
(Al-Sami') is transitive. For this reason, Allah said:
Certainly has Allah heard the speech of the one who argues with youقَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِي تُجَادِلُكَ
[Al-Mujadilah: 1] It is not sufficient to say: We believe that Allah is All-Hearing and that Allah has hearing, but we do not believe that He hears; this is not permissible. One must believe that Allah is All-Hearing, that He has hearing, and that He hears.
