Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (until you visit the graveyards)]

Allah the Exalted said:
until you visit the graveyardsحَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ
[At-Takathur:2] means: until you visit the graveyards,Meaning: until you die. The human being is created with a disposition for competition in numbers until he dies. In fact, the more he grows old, the more his hope increases. He grows old in age, but grows young in hope. So much so that you may find a man who is, for example, ninety years old possessing hopes and long expectations that a young man of fifteen years old does not have.
This is the meaning of the noble verse,Meaning: that you were preoccupied with competition in numbers, neglecting the Hereafter, until you died.

It is said that the meaning is:
until you visit the graveyardsحَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ
[At-Takathur:2] It is said that the meaning is: until you became competing with the dead just as you compete with the living,The person comes and says: saying, "My tribe is more numerous than your tribe." If you wish, go to the graveyards, count the graves of our people and count the graves of your people, and see which is more numerous. However, this is a weak opinion, far from the context of the verse. The first meaning is the correct one: that you are competing until you die.

And his statement:
until you visit the graveyardsحَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ
[At-Takathur:2] 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) used this as evidence: that the visitor must return to his homeland, and that graveyards are not a place of residence.

It is also mentioned that some Bedouin heard a reciter reading:
The competition for more has distracted you until you visit the graveyards.أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ * حَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ
[At-Takathur:1-2] and he said: By Allah, we will be resurrected,Because the visitor, as is known, visits and returns, he said: By Allah, we will be resurrected. This is the truth. And by this we know that what some people mention now in newspapers and elsewhere,He says about the man when he dies: that he has moved to his final resting place, is false and a lie. Because the graveyards are not the final resting place. In fact, if a person believed the implication of this phrase, he would become a disbeliever in the Resurrection, and disbelief in the Resurrection is apostasy from Islam. But many people take words without knowing their meaning, and perhaps this is inherited from the atheists who do not acknowledge the Resurrection after death.
